‘Goosebumps’ sequel already in the works!


The movie adaptation of Goosebumps is not due in cinemas until February here in the UK, however Sony are already looking ahead for a sequel.

The series of books (181 since 1992) have sold over 350 million worldwide, so Sony naturally want the develop this into a franchise. They are already planning a writer for the sequel, but it seems Sony are being cautious, waiting to find their man.

They want to go ahead with the sequel, based on the first films sales. So if popular, a Goosebumps 2 is likely. The tracking board revealed the news.

The report states that Sony is in the process of tracking down a writer to tackle the script for the sequel, so the planning is still in the very early stages.

Author R.L Stine’s series of books called Goosebumps spawned a TV series in the 90’s, and was adored by fans looking for something dark, funny, frightening and everything inbetween.

Goosebumps is directed by Rob Letterman, and is written by Scott Alexander, Carl Ellsworth, Larry Karaszewski and Darren Lemke, based on R.L Stine’s books. The cast includes Jack Black, Odeya Rush, Halston Sage, Ella Wahlestedt and Jillian Bell.

Expect to see the film in cinemas 10th February 2016.

When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.
