About Bat 7902 Articles
I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: Always Sometimes Monsters and The Witcher

  1. Scream 2 – It was a similar premise as the first film, but took it to another level. More kills, more blood and a lot more suspense. The crashed police car scene is really intense.
The only issue I have is the killing of Randy, but I guess killing the popular characters are all part of being a sequel.

  2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is, in my opinion, more shocking and disturbing than the first one. Also very underrated. Amazing film though.

  3. I loved Jeepers Creepers 2 because it actually was better than the original (which is unusual!) I’m a real fan of tongue-in-cheek horrors 🙂

  4. Friday the 13th Part 2: the first in the series which introduces us to Jason as the killer. Probably the best of all the Friday films.

  5. Dawn of the Dead – More gory, more zombies, great setting – having the gang holed up in a shopping mall…one of the all-time great horror movies.

  6. Halloween 2 from the 70s basically just because I loved the developing storyline and how it immediately carried on from the first one.

  7. Sequels in my opinion never have the same impact as the first film. For pure entertainment and the fact it has Milla Jovovich in it, it has to be the Resident Evil franchise.

  8. Final Destination 2 it didn’t take itself as seriously as the first film. (I was going to say Hellraiser 2 as it seemed to forget most of the original premise and become really inventively gory – however when I watch this it is always with my hands over my eyes so I would not use the word ‘enjoy’ to describe this viewing experience!)

  9. Amytiville Horror 2: The Possession. With the doors shaking and the secret tunnel, it makes you peer round the door when you need to leave the room!

  10. Tremors 2.
I saw this at a special screening on a cinema screen despite it being a straight to video release. One of the most underrated films ever!

  11. Psycho 2. I know it’s not a better film than the original but it was the first of the Psychos I saw and it was the one which hooked me in.

  12. It’s Insidious 2 because it’s every bit as good as the first one and it’s so scary which is what I like.

  13. It has to be Paranormal activities for me, they have gotten better over each film, and the baby monitor freaks me out, especially when my daughter’s monitor buzzed when I was watching that part #Creepy

  14. The original Halloween 2. I love the continuation of the story from Halloween, the continued focus on Jamie Lee Curtis’ character.

  15. Has to be Aliens – seen that more than Alien and prefer it for some reason. 🙂 Loved Alien but thought that the second one went a bit further. OK, it was “similar” and you had a rough idea what might happen but it’s a great film and you don’t necessarily have to watch Alien to enjoy Aliens. 🙂

  16. Halloween 2 .
John Carpenter was rumored as not wanting to make it but the with the search for the missing body of Michael Myers (who’d been shot six times!) and the great acting of Jamie Lee Curtis with plenty of gore and
suspenseful pacing this film was every bit as good as the original

  17. Every Saw film that followed just got darker and darker as they added more plot and twists… the last one I was more scared than ever lol

  18. I loved Final Destination 2. I thought it was scarier than the original, the Highway pile up was moe realistic (and based on a real life event) and the characters were likeable, i was rooting for them all the way! Brilliant sequel IMO

  19. My favourite has to be The Devils Rejects im a huge fan of Captain Spaulding great movies made by one of my favourite Rock stars Rob Zombie

  20. Meh tough choice, im a Horror film nut! I love Saw 2, Evil Dead, all the Nightmare on Elm Streets, Alien 2, Omen 2, Hellraiser 2 was awesome too!

  21. Omen 2 is the best one I can think of though I generally prefer something more head-bending like the Shining did the follow-up to that ever get made?

  22. Hostel 2 – Greater depth to the story and the characters, and more gore and Special Effects than the first.
