There’s been talk of a new Bad Boys movie for some time and it’s now going to happen, not at all a bad thing in my book. The first two films remain highly entertaining action comedies and the second one possibly contains Michael Bay’s best action work. A few months ago it was reported that Joe Carnahan [The ‘A’ Team, The Grey] was probably writing a new script and possibly directing the third installment of the franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Carnahan responded to those reports over social media back in June, but stopped short of confirming them. Then yesterday, Smith said in an interview:

“I saw Martin a few weeks ago. I haven’t seen him for about two years. We just looked at each other. We hugged. In that moment, we knew we were making another Bad Boys. We’re definitely doing another one.”

And today, Carnahan shared a pre-vis image from pre-production on the film on Twitter, with the words: “Who is this man, and how bad can he be”?

This suggests that at least one gun-toting, motorcycle-riding character will be featured in Bad Boys 3 in a highspeed road chase, but it also hints that Carnahan will be directing the film. I guess he’s a good choice, with a frantic action directing style much like Bay’s.

Columbia Pictures not only has a release date set for set for Bad Boys 3 – February 17th, 2017 – but also for Bad Boys 4 –  July 3rd, 2019.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
