A 24 show without Jack Bauer is unthinkable but that is exactly what FOX are planning as they have officially given the go ahead for its spin off 24:Legacy to have a 12 episode run.
“24: Legacy centres on military hero Eric Carter (Hawkins) whose trouble follows him back to the U.S. – compelling him to ask CTU for help. The show chronicles an adrenaline-fuelled race against the clock to stop a devastating terrorist attack on United States soil – in the real-time format that the original series became famous for.”
Sounds a bit like the 24 of the past, but FOX are quietly confident that the new show will bring in fans of old and new.
24: Legacy stars Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits and while Kiefer Sutherland has decided to opt out of this particular bad day, he is staying on as an Executive Producer.
The original 24 was given a 12 episode run, but due to its popularity was stretched then to the full 24 episodes, which resulted in the famous “There is another shooter!” dumb plot. Here is hoping Legacy has plans beyond its original twelve episodes, if it becomes a success.
