Actor legend Sir John Hurt dies at 77!





Its with great sadness to report that acting legend John Hurt has sadly passed away at the age of 77.

Sir John who through out his well established career had won four BAFTAs, a Golden Globe and was nominated twice for an Academy Award, passed away on Friday  – he had been suffering from pancreatic cancer.

A star of many films, Hurt is famously known for his role in the Sci-Fi classic ALIEN, who became the first person to suffer from a chest bursting xenomorphs. a scene that not only terrified a generation, but will forever be considered as one of the best moments in cinema history.

Only a few years ago, Hurt entered into Doctor Who folklore when he became the unknown at the time War Doctor, forever changing the show as he played a big part in the show’s 50th anniversary.

He was nominated for an Academy Award – and won a Golden Globe – for his portrayal of a heroin addict in 1978’s Midnight Express, and was again nominated for an Oscar but instead won a BAFTA for his brilliant portrayal of John Merrick in The Elephant Man.

Many other roles in such films like Harry Potter only cemented his status as a legendary performer.

He will be sadly missed!
