Well, Disney has revealed when we can expect to see Indiana Jones on the big screen, and the release date is July 19, 2019. Star Harrison Ford [too old?…surely not] and director Steven Spielberg team up again, along with franchise producing veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Says Alan Horn, Chairman of Walt Disney Studios:
“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
Nothing is yet known about the story of the fifth outing, but we do know a few things. George Lucas probably won’t be involved. Indy won’t be killed off a la Han Solo. And this new movie will be an intended franchise re-starter – with or without Ford. For the time being I’m assuming that Shia LeBoeuf isn’t returning either.
