Despite saying how worn out he was by directing Avengers: Age of Ultron, Joss Whedon, after also making The Avengers and co-creating the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, has now jumped ship and gone over to the competition [though he did once write a treatment for a Wonder Woman film and mention that he’d like to make a Batman film]. And he’s going to direct, write and produce a Batgirl movie, which I guess is a good choice for him with all that sub-feminist moaning that he does, though personally I was more excited back when Nicolas Winding Refn stated his own interest in this. The film will be part of the ever-evolving DC Extended Universe that includes the upcoming Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman, The Batman and Gotham City Sirens.
We don’t know who yet will be playing the character previously essayed by Yvonne Craig and Alicia Silverstone, nor what’s happening to that World War 2 horror film Whedon was supposed to be working on.
