This trailer was released five days ago, but I’ll still post it here as we’ve been covering this reboot of a reboot or a reboot [etc etc etc] for some time, and the version of the trailer below, which on its own is two thirds footage we’ve seen before [including that awful CGI] though it does show some zombies [which makes me wonder if there are actually going to be any proper mummies in the entire film], is an extended version which also includes the first trailer and Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe and others talking about the movie and revealing just a bit more about the background to the story, notably Crowe’s Dr Jekyll, who SPOILER ALERT apparently “causes all of the events in the movie”.

The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, written by David Koepp, Christopher McQuarrie and
Dylan Kussman. and stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Russell Crowe. It’s out on June 9th.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
