Well this really is getting beyond a joke. The latest instalment in the long-running Amityville series was supposedly completed in 2014 and was meant to come out in September of that year. Then Miramax withdrew it and cut it down from an ‘R’ rated movie to a ‘PG-13’ one. Since then we’ve had several intended release dates for the film but none of them came to pass. Early this year we were told June 30th and in fact it did seem that we were finally going to get to see the film….but now Deadline has reported that the film has been pushed back yet again to a “Date to be determined”.

So what’s going on? Everybody involved seems to be keeping tight-lipped on the matter. Maybe the film is absolutely terrible, and the studio are trying to turn it into something half-decent, but I doubt it what with the director of the surprisingly good remake of Maniac involved. In any case, it’s pretty insulting to Franck Khalfoun and his cast to keep on mucking about with the film in this way. Just release the damn thing!

SYNOPSIS: Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

Franck Khalfoun writes as well as directs. The film stars Bella Thorne, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Cameron Monaghan, Thomas Mann, Taylor Spreitler, Mckenna Grace, and Kurtwood Smith.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
