Though I personally thought Suicide Squad was terrible, it was a bit hit despite a very mixed response, so a sequel was obviously going to happen. Initially it seemed that David Ayer would return as director, but he then moved over to Gotham City Sirens. Soon after, it became known that Mel Gibson, Jonathan Levine, Ruben Fleischer and Daniel Espinosa were all being considered. Then Jaume Collet-Serra of Orphan and The Shallows was being looked at and it seemed certain that he would take the job….until today when it’s been announced that he’s opted to do Jungle Cruise, a Disney adventure starring Dwayne Johnson based on a theme park ride a la Pirates Of The Caribbean. Supposedly the reason is that Serra preferred to originate a potential action adventure franchise rather than direct a sequel, which is totally understandable.

The rumours now are that Warners and DC are looking again at those four other names, though I can’t see them using Gibson can you? – he’s still toxic to many. He’d be an interesting and in my opinion good choice though.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
