Yes indeed, though it’s a case of “blink and you’ll miss him” as his Nelson character from the original 1990 version skulks in the background while Ellen Page’s Courtney talks about what happens when we die. Other than that, the 30-second teaser just seems to show us clips that we’ve seen before. I’m ambivalent about this ‘sequel-feel reboot’. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the original, I thought it was quite fun but squandered its great potential, but I am literally yawning as I type this about yet another remake of a film which is certainly a bit of a cult favourite
Flatliners will once again follow the lives of five medical students who embark on a daring experiment by stopping their hearts for short periods, unaware that it will trigger a series of awesome powers as well as unfortunate experiences.
It’s directed by Niels Arden Oplev, written by Ben Ripley and Pete Filardi, and stars Nina Dobrev, Ellen Page, Diego Luna, James Norton, Kiefer Sutherland, Kiersey Clemons, Beau Mirchoff.
It arrives in cinemas September 29th.
