Well this really is ‘far out’, but several websites have just reported on an interview done on Post Mortem with director Tom McLoughlin who directed Friday the 13th: Jason Lives, where McLoughlin mentions how a film where Jason Voorhees meets Cheech and Chong was briefly considered. Said McLoughlin:

“I was asked by producer Frank Mancuso Jr. if I had a pitch for a potential sequels. I said, ‘You know what? You guys own Cheech and Chong. What if we do Cheech and Chong-meets-Jason? They’re like camp counselors or something. It’s like, ‘Hey, man, I saw Jason out there.’ ‘No, man, that’s a myth.’ But he said, ‘You know what? No.”

However, McLoughlin did pitch Mancuso another idea in which Jason met Freddy Kruger, and Mancuso apparently said to him:

“Well, we’re going to try and see if we can work something out.”

Can a Jason Voorhees vs. Cheech and Chong have worked? Probably not in my opinion, though I’ve always thought that Friday The 13th: Part 3’s pair of dopeheads named Chuck and Chili were inspired by Cheech and Chong.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
