Latest TV: AMC not worried about The Walking Dead’s declining ratings!

The Walking Dead is going nowhere!

Despite what the headlines are telling you and yes the ratings are down, but the Zombie show is still attaching a massive 9 million viewers a week, despite a stuttering start to season 8.

The Walking Dead was second in popularity only to NCIS among television dramas this past week so all the doom and gloom needs to be put in perspective!  Those believing that the end is in sight for Rick and Co only have to look at AMC themselves who have come out and said that they are not worried at all about the figures so far!

AMC CEO Josh Sapan has come out in defence of the show and more or less believes its in for the long haul!

The use of the word ‘franchise,’ we don’t take lightly. It’s not a sloppy or casual word,” Sapan said during a conference call with Wall Street analysts today. “We’ve studied the best. Some have been around 30, 40, 50 years. We have a chance for a lot of life in the franchise.”

[The franchise] is in great shape and the people who are managing that great shape are motivated,” Sapan added.

It seems AMC are committed to both The Walking Dead and its spin off Fear, but as both shows rake in money from Merchandise all over the world, is this a real surprise?

Now all they have to do, is get the writers back to basics, forget this Negan war rubbish that has dragged on for ages and remember that the fans want zombie action…….. please!
