For a while it was Denis Villeneuve, then it was Yann Demange, while those Christopher Nolan rumours re-surfaced once again. But now, it seems that Danny Boyle could be directing the next Bond. The Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire filmmaker apparently has “keen interest in the project” but ‘Variety’ says that no official offer has actually been made yet. Of course Boyle has already had his 007 audition with his Bond skit featuring Daniel Craig and the Queen for the London 2012 Olympics.
And today, further news has come in that Boyle’s frequent collaborator John Hodge is writing a script for the new Bond film.
Though I wasn’t too keen on his nostalgia trip Trainspotting sequel, Boyle has otherwise delivered a strong movie time after time. Perhaps his hugely stylistic approach could be too much for Bond, though he was certainly able to tone that down for Steve Jobs.
