Almost a year ago to the day we learned that J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot were working on a WWII horror movie about zombies and possibly other supernatural creatures called Overlord. Since that announcement we heard very little about it, but it now seems that Overlord has been adopted into the Cloverfield series of films which are only connected tenuously but which do exist in the same universe. The same thing happened with 10 Cloverfield Lane which was originally entitled The Cellar, and seems to have happened with the much delayed third film also.

The story follows two paratroopers who are caught behind enemy lines after their plane crashes on a mission to destroy a German Radio Tower in a small town outside of Normandy during the D-Day invasion. After reaching their target, the two paratroopers come to realize that besides fighting off Nazi soldiers, they also must combat against supernatural forces that are a result of a secret Nazi experiment.

It’s directed by Julius Avery, is written by Billy Day and Mark L. Smith, and stars Wyatt Russell and Jovan Adepo.

And God Particle is out 20th April.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
