There has been a dismissive stance to the Terminator franchise, mostly because of the recent sequels that have failed to engage the fan base and has threatened to end the story for good. Recent sequel Genisys was such a flop and hated among die-hard fans that it ended any hopes of a franchise reboot, but lets not forget that the original two films are Sci-Fi Classics and the third film, despite dropping in quality, does contain a delicious dark ending that makes the watch all worthwhile.
So despite the negativity, there is still hope of a good Terminator film out there and with news that not only Arnold Schwarzenegger is “back” once for the new film, but also Linda Hamilton who will reprise her iconic role of Sarah Conner, hopes are high for the sixth film which will be directed by Deadpool’s Tim Miller and also have original Creator James Cameron back in a creative role.
Sadly though we may have to wait to see how Terminator 6 pans out because Paramount Pictures have announced that the film which was originally slated for release on July 26, 2019 is now scheduled for November 22, 2019.
This will be the first Terminator movie not to be released in the summer since the original’s October release way back in 1984.
Halt and Catch Fire‘s Mackenzie Davis has also been cast in a role.
