While the trailer – despite being shown at CinemaCon – has yet to be officially released, we do how have a synopsis for The Predator, and it seems to confirm rumours that it will be a sequel to the first two movie, following on from reports that Jake Busey could be playing the son of Gary Busey’s character from Predator 2. Frankly I love it that they’re using the first sequel as canon too, as I tend to enjoy watching it as much as the original.

Here’s what Fox had to say:

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

So these Predators genetically upgrade themselves with DNA from other life forms? Plenty of opportunity to get really imaginative there, though I hope that they don’t go too far away from the original concept of the Predators.

The Predator is being directed by Shane Black from a script he co-wrote with Fred Dekker. Along with the previously mentioned Jake Busey, the film will star Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Jake Tremblay, Alfie Allen, Edward James Olmos, Yvonne Strahovski, and Thomas Jane. The Predator will hit cinemas on September 14, 2018.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
