A trailer has arrived for biopic Mary Shelley, which promises to tell the story of the creation of one of the most famous and adapted novels of all time, and it looks like a solid drama with a distinct feminist angle, along with a rather convincing English accent from Elle Fanning who plays Mary.

Mary Shelley is directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour, written by Al-Mansour and Emma Jensen, and stars Elle Fanning, Maisie Williams, Douglas Booth and Joanne Froggatt.

US release date is May 25th, though we won’t see it in the UK till July 6th.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.

  1. I am not very impressed. But then it is Elle Fanning. Apart from 20th Century Women and Ginger and Rosa, I think she has been in terrible films so far. I could barely stand The Neon Demon. Hopefully, this movie will change my opinion of her.
