For a film that so many were dead set against, there’s been an awful lot of hype about the Luca Guadagnino-directed remake of Dario Argento’s Suspiria, and now that its second, full trailer is now, that hype seems set to continue. It’s certainly a fine trailer, giving the viewer a sense of feel and tone without showing too much. I just wish it wasn’t for a film called Suspiria.
“A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe’s artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.”
David Kajganich wrote the screenplay and the cast includes Dakota Johnson, Chloe Grace-Moretz, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Sylvie Testud, Renée Soutendijk, Angela Winkler, Malgorzata Bela and Lutz Ebersdorf. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke composed the score.
It’s out on the US in New York and Los Angleles on October 26th, expanding nationwide on November 2nd. We still don’t have a UK release date.
