I’m not going to get into the subject of Disney firing Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn for some old tweets, but I think it’s good to know that he’s certainly not gone from the whole film industry. In fact, he’s got a horror film scheduled for release this autumn, though we hardly know anything about it. It was reportedly meant to be advertised at Sony’s San Diego Comic-Con but it was pulled due to the controversy surrounding Gunn. However, despite the lack of promotion, a representative for Sony has confirmed to ‘Screen Rant’ that the film is still on track for a November 30th release.
But that’s virtually all we know. Rumours are going around that Gunn’s friend David Yarovesky is actually directing the project, that Elizabeth Banks is starring, and that it might be based on the manga series Berserk, PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne or Grant Morrison’s graphic novel Nameless. However, for the time being it’s probably best to take all this with a pinch of salt as nothing has been confirmed yet. Hopefully we’ll at least get a trailer at some point.
