Considering that the likes of The Exorcist, Scream, Evil Dead, Psycho and even Friday The 13th [albeit in a totally different form to the movie series] made their way to the small screem, it’s perhaps surprising that Halloween has yet to make it – though apparently the idea has been floated around for some time.
Well, speaking with ‘Bloody Disgusting’, producer Malek Akkad seemed to hint that one could finally be coming.
“When we started doing it… this was in development about a decade ago. At the time, I think the thought was we don’t want to cannibalize the theatrical. Let’s keep it as a theatrical event movie. If that starts flowing down, we would address TV. Nowadays, we all know, TV is pulling out ahead of theatrical in a way that surprised everybody, certainly me”.
Akkad also mentioned that the series would be about Michael Myers, though I personally would prefer it if they kept The Shape to the big screen and for TV did something like have a different Halloween themed story each episode – which is what the movie franchise might have been if Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch hadn’t had such a poor reception.
please make a Halloween TV Series, and if you do make a Halloween tV Series have it on a TV network such as AMC,SyFYor fox,the CW.Not all people have netflix and can’t afford Netflix ,but would really love to see Michael Myers on the small acreen.I wish aMC would cancel The Walking Dead and replace it with Halloween TV Series. Please Malek Akkad don’t let us down.
