A new image from the Michael Dougherty-directed Godzilla: King of the Monsters has been revealed courtesy of ‘Total Film’, and it’s actually of the foot of Ghidorah’s foot, the three-headed dragon who was pretty much Godzilla’s arch enemy in the Japanese Toho series – giving you an impression of how bloody huge he’s going to be. According to the magazine, Toho signed off on/approved all the monster designs in next year’s film, which apparently stay quite true to their original look.
The sequel takes place five years after the events in the first film…
“When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
Dougherty directs from a script he wrote with Zach Shields. Zhang Ziyi, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance and Aisha Hinds star.
The release date is May 31, 2019.
