It seems that the new film from Nicholas McCarthy, who previously made the very impressive horror The Pact, is so scary in one place that he’s had to re-edit it. The Prodigy is about “a mother who is concerned about her 8-year-old son’s disturbing behavior and thinks something supernatural may be affecting him”, and when McCarthy was asked by ‘EW’ how scary it is, he replied:
“I’ll say this. The first time we previewed the movie, there is a section where people screamed so loud that we had to go back and re-edit the scene that followed it, because people were still recovering from what they had just seen, and they were missing the dialogue.”
Sounds good to me. Here’s the trailer:
Jeff Buhler writes, and Taylor Schilling, Jackson Robert Scott, Brittany Allen, Colm Feore and Peter Mooney star in The Prodigy, which is out February 8, 2019.
