The new Halloween seems to have divided us at HCF – none of us hated it, but opinion did range from average to excellent, and I’m sorry to say that I’m one of the ones who found it distinctly average. Nonetheless it’s been a huge box office success, so there will probably be another one. In a chat with ‘Empire Magazine Australia’ this week, Jamie Lee Curtis said that:
“If David Gordon Green called me up and said let’s do another Halloween, I would do another Halloween, because he did such a beautiful job creating this movie”.
No offence to Curtis, but I kind of hope she doesn’t return, because it will make a mockery of what was supposed to have been the “final confrontation” between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode. We’ve had the Halloween H20 remake, now let’s move on.
I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
News about the new Halloween keeps on pouring in and I know that HCF’s Ross Hughes just cannot contain his excitement, in fact I think he’s going to make himself ill if he goes on […]
Well it’s been a few weeks since we’ve had a Halloween story. Though I was personally very disappointed with what to me was basically an H20 remake and an inferior one at that, it was […]
I don’t think there has ever been so much pressure on a Halloween film before. If we were talking about a straight to DVD offering, then every fan would be excited about the upcoming film […]
