Though I haven’t seen it in a great many years, I do recall enjoying the James Brolin-starring horror film from 1977 The Car at about 2am one night on TV, and it does seem to have a fair number of fans who will probably be happy that a sequel entitled The Car: Road to Revenge is coming, and that Ronny Cox even returns as The Mechanic!

“In a dilapidated cyberpunk city plagued by crime and corruption, an unscrupulous District Attorney is savagely murdered and tossed out of a building onto his brand new car. Mysteriously, the District Attorney and his car come back to life as a single being with a thirst for vengeance. The eerie driverless car embarks on a vicious rampage exacting revenge on the criminals who murdered him.”

G.J. Echternkamp directs from a script by him, Michael Tabb and Matt Yamashita, and Grant Bowler, Kathleen Munroe, Martin Hancock, Micah Balfour, Burt Grinstead star.

It’s released on Region ‘A’ on January 8, 2019. It doesn’t have a Region ‘B’ release date yet so us UKers can’t see it yet unless we own multi-region disc players, but here’s the [rather short] trailer to keep you going for a while…..

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
