So just three days before it hit cinemas, the final trailer for the Pet Sematary remake has dropped, with lots of footage we’ve seen, but some that we haven’t including some cool quotes. Reports mostly suggest that it’s really good. Having reviewed the original last week, I’m on a bit of a Pet Sematary thing at the moment, so in addition to reviewing this new film over the weekend, I’ll also be taking a look at the divisive sequel to the first movie.
“Based on the novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed, who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”
Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer direct, Matt Greenberg and Jeff Buhler write, and John Lithgow, Hugo Lavoie, Lucas Lavoie, Jeté Laurence, Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz star. April 5 is the release date.
