Us fans of cult favourites Hardware and Dust Devil have been waiting a great many years for their writer and director Richard Stanley to make another movie. Well, the South African-born filmmaker has finally done so, which gets me very excited. Add to this the fact that it’s an adaptation of a story by one of my favourite horror writers H.P. Lovecraft, and I almost can’t control myself. Color Out Of Space is about:

“A meteor which falls to earth and lands on the property of a New England family — its increasingly unhinged patriarch played by the one-and-only Nicolas Cage — with insidious, delirious, and psychedelic results.

It will be premiering as part of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness section next month. We don’t have a full release date for you yet, but have no fear, I’ll be following this movie very closely.

Color Out of Space is directed by Richard Stanley, written by Stanley and Scarlett Amaris, and stars Nicolas Cage, Q’orianka Kilcher, Joely Richardson and Tommy Chong.

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
