I rated The Gallows 1.5 out of 10 when it came out, I thought it was absolutely pathetic and not at all worthy of a cinema release when countless better films go straight to home viewing. However, Blumhouse must have known what they were doing, because it made a fair bit of money at the box office. And now, courtesy of ‘Bloody Disgusting’, we have a first clip from the sequel, The Gallows: Act II. We see the Hangman creeping up on somebody, who turns around to find a mannequin which she begins to unmask. It’s not a bad scene. Could this mean that this one is, actually, good?
After Auna Rue, a teenage vlogger/aspiring actress, logs onto a sinister website, she’s soon trapped in the malevolent world of a cursed stage play, The Gallows. After performing a passage from the play for her tiny online fan base, Auna instantly achieves the stardom she seeks—as well as a twisted challenge from a deadly spirit The Hangman).
Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing write and direct, while Jono Cota, Jener Dasilva and Brittany Falardeau star.
The Gallows: Act II will be released in cinemas, on demand and on digital October 25.
