And so another action classic is going to get the reboot treatment – in fact it’s getting two.
What I didn’t know was that Warner Bros. first announced plans to remake The Fugitive back in 2009, but nothing happened then. Albert Hughes [last year’s highly underrated Alpha, From Hell, Menace II Society] is going to direct this new attempt, while Brian Tucker [Broken City] has written a script. This will be “a new spin” on the 1993 movie. Few of us probably want this, but it’s probably going to happen anyway. We don’t have a star yet.
And the news broke earlier this year that a remake was being done for upcoming streaming service Quibi, starring Kiefer Sutherland as, says the synopsis:
A “legendary” detective named Clay Bryce who has been tasked with hunting down Mike Ferro [Boyd Holbrook], a young man who has been wrongfully accused of bombing an LA subway train.
I’m so excited – not.
