They said Alita: Battle Angel would flop and they were wrong; the film made $400 million on a $170 million production budget at the box office. However, that’s hardly a high figure so it’s doubtful that Disney, who now of course own 20th Century Fox, are interested in making a sequel…..and by god it needs a sequel, since it clearly ended with only part of the story from the anime told. A while ago star Rosa Salazar said how she’d love to continue playing the title character, and earlier this week producer Jon Landau had urged fans of the movie to make sure they’re letting their voices be heard. Sure enough yesterday saw one of the top trending topics on Twitter being #AlitaSequel, which thousands have been using to tag the Disney and 20th Century Fox accounts.

This has no doubt caught Disney’s attention….but will it be enough? It’s probably all down to money. Will Disney feel that spending loads of dollars on a sequel is worth it financially? We Shall see. But for now….come on Disney, do the decent thing and give us the sequel to one of the best movies of 2019!

I'm a huge film fan and will watch pretty much any type of film, from Martial Arts to Westerns, from Romances [though I don't really like Romcoms!]] to Historical Epics. Though I most certainly 'have a life', I tend to go to the cinema twice a week! However, ever since I was a kid, sneaking downstairs when my parents had gone to bed to watch old Universal and Hammer horror movies, I've always been especially fascinated by horror, and though I enjoy all types of horror films, those Golden Oldies with people like Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee probably remain my favourites. That's not to say I don't enjoy a bit of blood and gore every now and again though, and am also a huge fan of Italian horror, I just love the style.
