LATEST NEWS: Mad Max creator Miller confirms Furiosa prequel but Theron won’t return!

One of the most ground breaking action films in recent times was Mad Max: Fury Road which saw Tom Hardy take over the iconic role from Mel Gibson to critical and box-office acclaim.

One of the major pluses and another reason why the film was such a success was Charlize Theron and her character Furiosa with fans hoping to see more of her in future films.

Well creator George Miller has some good and bad news. There is a prequel film coming about the character Furiosa, but because its going to be set around the time she was much younger, Theron will not be returning.

Here is Miller explaining:

“For the longest time, I thought we could just use CG de-ageing on Charlize, but I don’t think we’re nearly there yet. Despite the valiant attempts on ‘The Irishman,’ I think there’s still an uncanny valley. Everyone is on the verge of solving it, particular Japanese video-game designers, but there’s still a pretty wide valley, I believe.”

Millar confirms they are now looking for a 20 year plus actress to take the lead role in what will be a highly anticipated movie.

Its a shame on Theron who wonderfully brought the character to life and this news will disappoint fans, but with the long running franchise still in the capable hands of Miller, who has the backstory of Furiosa all mapped out, we have to trust what he is doing!

More as we get it!
