Brooklyn-born acting veteran, John Saxon, has sadly passed away at the age of 84.
John Saxon was known for many different roles in a variety of films, from Westerns to martial arts pictures with Bruce Lee (Enter The Dragon). However, readers of this site may be more familiar with Saxon’s horror roles, including Nancy’s police lieutenant father in Wes Craven’s 1984 slasher hit, A Nightmare on Elm Street; a cop in seasonal slasher Black Christmas, and an author’s agent in Dario Argento’s giallo, Tenebrae, to name but a few. Saxon was always a solid presence in any film he starred in, regardless of whether he was a supporting star or the lead, and we, as film fans, have been blessed by his incredible body of work.
Rest In Peace, John Saxon.
