Sly Stallone announces he is working on a ROCKY TV Prequel!

Just when we thought Sly Stallone had finally put to rest his iconic character Rocky Balboa after the events of spin off CREED II, he has now dropped a bit of shocking news that he is working on a prequel TV Series that he hopes will get picked up by a streaming service.

I really don’t know what to think of this as ROCKY the original movie, is more or less a great starting point to the whole story of this much loved boxer and his journey to the top, so what can a prequel serve up? But Sly who knows this character better than anyone, obviously has an idea, so who am I to argue as he made the announcement on Instagram.

Here is what he wrote:

This may be the strangest posting yet. I started out this morning by writing a treatment for a Rocky prequel For streaming. Ideally 10 episodes for a few seasons to really get to the heart of the Characters… Hope it happens.

Imagine a time machine that will simply transport us back to the origins of ‘Rocky,’” Stallone’s treatment begins. “A cinematic world brimming with characters that have been beloved by people around the world for nearly five decades. Climbing aboard that time machine that will take us to the most transformative generation in modern history: The Sixties….Needles to say the 60s was a dynamic time

Yet among all this social seismic activity we drop in on the rather plain life of 17 year old Robert ‘Rocky’ Balboa. A forgotten man, a wasted life, until he was transformed into a winner. We now see this young man struggling like all young people trying to find (their place)

Have to add that this at the moment is all just an Idea in Stallone’s head and its not the first time he has thought of turning Rocky into a TV Show, with also a RAMBO prequel, once being talked about, but then cast away.

Let’s see what happens in the near future, but we still have CREED III on the horizon, even though its expected that Stallone will not appear in it!
