Horror filmmaker B Harrison Smith (The Fields, Camp Dread, Death House, The Special) brings historical context to horror films from the 1930s through the late 1980s and the importance of theatrical and group screenings in his upcoming book, THIS TIME IT’S PERSONAL.
Smith said, “From the time I saw Jaws (1975) in theatres, I knew I wanted to make movies. It was the first movie for me where the audience stood, applauded and cheered at the end. Since then I have had incredible theatre experiences from the best to the worst the genre can offer in theatres with big crowds, and the memories are something that fuel today’s nostalgia and drive fans to conventions.”
