It is with shock and sadness that we announce that actor Ray Liotta has sadly passed away at age 67.
Ray Liotta was known for his roles in gangster movies and thrillers, in particular Martin Scorsese’s GOODFELLAS, in which he played Henry Hill, who “always wanted to be a gangster”, opposite screen icons Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci. However, player a mobster wasn’t always what he was known for. Horror audiences will recall Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal Lector cooking him a slice of his own brain in HANNIBAL whilst videogame enthusiasts will know him as the voice of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City‘s playable main character, Tommy Vercetti. He even starred in two Muppets films.
With his piercing blue eyes and smouldering charm, Liotta cut a striking figure on screen and captivated audiences in over 100 projects he worked on throughout his career.
Liotta is said to have passed away in his sleep in the Dominican Republic where he was shooting a film called Dangerous Waters.
RIP Ray Liotta: 1954 – 2022.
