Psychological thriller LORD OF TEARS has been chosen to screen at San Diego Comic Fest in October later this year. The news comes days after the Kickstarter campaign hit their required target in just 10 days. Their new goal is £10k ($15k), with pledgers gaining gifts in exchange for their money and the ability to pre-order a copy of the film through the Kickstarter campaign.

Lord of Tears tells the story of James Findlay, a school teacher plagued by recurring nightmares of a mysterious and unsettling entity. Suspecting that his visions are linked to a dark incident in his past, James returns to his childhood home, a notorious mansion in the Scottish Highlands, where he uncovers the disturbing truth behind his dreams, and must fight to survive the brutal consequences of his curiosity…

Directed by Lawrie Brewster and written by musician Sarah Daly, aka Metaphorest, Lord of Tears has been spooking the living daylights out of us here at HCF with its creepy figure, The Owl Man, lurking in the darkness. It appears we’re not the only ones bricking it as the Owl Man takes to video chat sites Chat Roulette and Omegle to scare the shit out of unsuspecting people. And boy, do they!

Not content with the video, the filmmakers have even sent us some snaps of the Owlman lurking in an old, Victorian Children’s Hospital. Does it get any more frightening than this?!

I love practical effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Yakuza Zero and Mafia III.
