This June and July, Grimm Up North are continuing their run of John Carpenter classics with screenings of Big Trouble in Little China and horror The Thing.
The screenings will take place on 26th June 2014 for Big Trouble in Little China, followed by The Thing on 17th July 2014, at The Dancehouse, Oxford Road, Manchester. The screenings cost £6.50 each and doors open at 7.30pm for 8pm film start.
Big Trouble in Little China
Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) is a reasonable guy who is about to experience some unreasonable things in San Francisco’s Chinatown. As his friend’s fiancée is kidnapped Jack becomes embroiled in a centuries-old battle between good and evil. At the root of it all is Lo Pan, a 2000-year-old magician who rules an empire of evil spirits. Jack goes to the rescue dodging demons, goblins and the unstoppable Three Storms as he battles through Lo Pan s dark domain.

The Thing
The Thing follows a group of scientists at an arctic research station who discover an alien spacecraft under the thick ice, and thaw out the alien body found aboard. What they don’t know is that the alien can assume any human form, and before long the scientists can’t tell who’s real and who’s a deadly alien threat.
