Titan Books are set to publish Marc Turner’s DRAGON HUNTERS on 9th February 2016 in paperback and ebook format.
From an exciting new name in British fantasy comes the second instalment of a gritty and brilliant grimdark epic set in a world of meddlesome gods and black magic that will delight fans of Joe Abercrombie and Patrick Rothfuss.
In When the Heavens Fall, the first adventure in The Chronicles of the Exile series, necromancers and warring gods battled for control of the stolen Book of Lost Souls. Now it is time for the annual hunt as once each year the fabled Dragon Gate is raised to let a sea dragon pass from the Southern Wastes to the Sabian Sea. There, it will be hunted by the Storm Lords, a fellowship of powerful water–?mages who rule the empire of the Storm Isles.
This year, someone forgot to tell the dragon which is the hunter and which the hunted.
Imerle Polivar is nearing the end of her tenure as leader of the Storm Lords, but she has no intention of standing down graciously. As part of her plot to hold on to power, she commands an order of priests known as the Chameleons to sabotage the Dragon Gate, an act certain to sow chaos through the Isles. There’s just one problem: it will require the Chameleons to infiltrate an impregnable citadel that controls the gate—a feat that has never been accomplished before.
But Imerle isn’t the only one intent on destroying the Storm Lord dynasty. As the Lords assemble in answer to a mysterious summons, they become the targets of assassins working for an unknown enemy. And when Imerle sets her scheme in motion, that enemy uses the ensuing turmoil to play its hand.
