Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) stars as a small town nurse who gets brutally attacked and raped in her own home by a mysterious man (Shiloh Fernandez). Following his arrest, she starts to write to him but the letters all get returned unopened. Determined to confront him she then starts to regularly visit him in prison and seemingly befriends him, against her father’s (Nick Nolte) express wishes. Unable to understand his daughters intentions he fears for her safety come the time her assailant is released…but has he underestimated her strength and resolve?

BatWhilst I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, nothing can beat a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. I don't do 3D movies so put the red and green spex away!

  19. I like What We Did on Our Holiday the most as Rosamund Pike was keeping me surprised more than ever during the movie.

  20. Surrogates – I thought Rosamund and Bruce Willis were excellent in this cop film with a difference. Well worth watching just for a view of the “surrogate” Rosamund Pike, gorgeous.

  41. Although not an obvious casting choice, she was great as Abi in What We Did on Our Holiday carrying off the comedy-drama script very effectively.

  57. Pride and Prejudice was great and An Education, mostly I just love her voice. She did a great movie with Paul Giamatti I think called Barney’s Version in which she was just brilliant. Mostly it’s the voice though she has a brilliant way of speaking it’s artless.

  58. Gone Girl. I knew nothing of the storyline so it kept me interested all the way through and Pike played the role very well, being somewhere between cold fish, loving wife and unhinged sociopath.
