In March 2012, Andy Erupts and Scream Magazine journalist Andy Stewart decided to start work on his first short “body horror” film from a self-penned script, the first in his “trilogy” of body horror shorts, Dysmorphia. The film was shot over two days in May, on a budget of £160. Since its completion, Dysmorphia has received several positive reviews (including one from us) and has been called “Quite possibly the greatest short film we have ever seen.” by The Twisted Twins, Jen & Sylvia Soska (American Mary, Dead Hooker In A Trunk). It received its World Premiere at Grimmfest 2012 in Manchester before its most recent screening at the inaugural Rio Grind Film Festival in Vancouver, where the graphic imagery actually caused one viewer to faint before Dysmorphia ultimately scooped the award for Best Practical Effects. The film will play again in Vancouver as part of the Best of the Fest nights on November 12th at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver.
Andy is now in pre-production on “Banquet”, the second short film in the series. Gordon Holliday will return in a new role that further reinforces the fact that he is the bravest man working in indie films in the UK. An indiegogo account, to raise supplemetary funds towards the budget for Banquet reached its target in 2 days. Every little helps though and the campaign will run for another 25 days, to make the film more awesome. If you’d like to donate to make Banquet a proper slap-up film, you can do so here
