I love prosthetic effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: Always Sometimes Monsters and The Witcher

  1. Definitely one from the Saw collection. Nothing more entertaining to guests than watching people get killed in gruesome ways!

  2. Saw – It is a Great Horror Film with all the tricks used to make it a good film, gore, twists and a good story and characters

  3. it would have the be “the uncanny” to make my guests start to get nervous at the sight of my cats and probably leave early!

  4. Poltergeist, so we can all do our best impressions, from “theeey’re heeeere” to “theeeeis haaause is clean” ;D

  5. to entertain guests? for that definitely peter jackson’s braindead (dead alive, not the pullman paxton mind bender). funny, weird and rawkus, perfect for watching over a few beers with some choice guests. “i kick arse for the lord” always brings the house down.

  6. your next. its great as we live in the middle of nowhere so would freak them out watching it and would keep them guessing which my friends love. could also then freak them out after with some pranks haha 🙂

  7. Another vote for John Carpenter’s The Thing, because I love the isolated Antarctic setting and the special effects are still great.

  8. The night of the Demon ( the old black and white version). It was so atmospheric and left a lot to your imagination which made it really scarry

  9. The Exorcist, I saw it at the cinema when it first came out and members of the clergy were waiting outside to counsel anyone who was traumatised

  10. It’s got to be Psycho ~ not only truly frightening but a seminal horror film and the founding father of all horror/suspense films! 😛

  11. Serial Mom – not technically a horror but verges on the edge of horror. Hugely ebtertaining film so underrated and everyone that has had a loan of the DVD loves it.

  12. Do many awesome horror films out there…

    … I’m going with…

    ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’

Absolutely amazing film – in Spanish and subtitled it’s a fairy tale story full of horror, Gore, lore and with what I consider is a happy ending.
Absolutely love it and it should get a group of people gripped with its various emotions and tension! ;D

  13. I’d be quite tempted to go for the ring – it’s definitely a real scarer in my eyes and opens the possibility of a prank call half way through to add suspense. … 7 days… 😈

  14. From Dusk Til Dawn. For the first hour its a regular Tarantino gangster movie, and everyone gets nice and comfortable with what they think the movie is about… then BAM!!!! Vampires, exploding vampires, gory vampires, scary vampires, Vampires EVERYWHERE!!!!

  15. The Exorcist
I saw it when first released and at the end of the movie, everybody left the cinema in shocked silence!
