Signature Entertainment have unleashed the trailer for gritty paramedic thriller BLACK FLIES, directed by Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire (A Prayer Before Dawn), from a script written by Ben Mac Brown and Ryan King (The Tutor), based on Shannon Burke’s novel.
Ollie Cross (Tye Sheridan, Ready Player One) is ready to do good. In preparation for his dream of medical school, he hits the streets driving an ambulance alongside Rutkovsky (Sean Penn, Milk), a grizzled veteran and one of New York’s best medics. Among the often startling jobs they encounter during Cross’s rookie tenure, nothing compares to the crisis that emerges when the partners respond to a call from a mother who has just given birth to a premature baby. Their handling of the mother and child will forever alter the course of both men’s lives.
