Genre film specialists Evolutionary Films will release the action horror SHADOWLAND, which stars AMELIA EVE (The Haunting of Bly Manor) and BEN KEENAN (The B@it), on all major digital platforms in the UK on 1st of March 2020.

Cam (Ben Keenan), an ex-serviceman turned bodyguard recruits Elaine (Amelia Eve), an old team member and colleague, for what should be an easy mission: get the Ambassador (David E. Grimes) he is responsible for, and his family, safely to a function in rural Scotland. But en-route they are attacked by hijackers hellbent on ransoming the Ambassador. In the ensuing gunfight the Ambassador is shot and wounded and his wife is killed. The survivors take refuge in an old military barracks and they can’t believe their luck when the hijackers themselves are mysteriously attacked and killed. But soon, whatever killed the hijackers has them in its sights and their only hope of survival is an old scientist from the barracks who seems to know more than he says about whatever lurks outside.

SHADOWLAND has recently been blazing a trail through the global festival circuit, picking up ‘Best Feature Film’ at the ‘Latitude Film Awards’ as well as nominations including for the ‘Best Music’ award at the ‘Bloodstained Indie Film Festival’.

The film’s writer/director Simon Kay has worked extensively across various departments, honing his craft on major productions including Disney’s Avengers Infinity War and Netflix’s Outlaw King. During his career, Simon built the relationships required to crew SHADOWLAND with a highly experienced and decorated crew, as well as having locations mostly scouted from travelling around Scotland on various film sets. Simon produced the film with Sebastian Nanena.

Evolutionary Films’ Creative Director, Ross Boyask, who acquired SHADOWLAND for the company for both the UK territory and international sales said, “We’re delighted to be releasing Shadowland as it is an exciting cross-genre film, which also showcases some terrific UK acting talent including Amelia Eve.”

I love practical effects, stop-motion animation and gore, but most of all I love a good story! I adore B-movies and exploitation films in many of their guises and also have a soft spot for creature features. I review a wide range of media including movies, TV series, books and videogames. I'm a massive fan of author Hunter S. Thompson and I enjoy various genre of videogames with Kingdom Hearts and Harvest Moon two of my all time favs. Currently playing: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Yakuza Zero and Mafia III.
