Scott Derrickson to direct remake of classic THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER

Its crazy and surreal to know that the 1955 masterpiece  “NIGHT OF THE HUNTER” was a critical and commercial flop and ended the directing career of Charles Laughton, even though quite rightly its now considered as a much loved masterpiece.

Its been announced today that Scott Derrickson of THE BLACK PHONE and SINISTER fame, has been hired to direct a remake for the modern generation with C. Robert Cargill (Sinister) co- writing the script!

The original had Robert Mitchum as an evil murderous con man, looking for the £10,000 hidden away from his new bride’s deceased husband, money taken from a bank robbery.

It be interesting to see how this pans out, but Derrickson has got a good reputation, even though as always, I can never get too excited when a new remake is announced.

Since my mother sat me down at the age of five years of age and watched a little called Halloween, I have been hooked on horror. There is no other genre that gets me excited and takes me to the edge of entertainment. I watch everything from old, new, to cheap and blockbusters, but I promise all my readers that I will always give an honest opinion, and I hope whoever reads this review section, will find a film that they too can love as much as I do! Have fun reading, and please DO HAVE NIGHTMARES!!!!!!
