While this is just rumours, it does seem to be gathering pace on news outlets and to be honest it doesn’t come much of a surprise to this SCREAM Fan as its looking increasingly likely that Patrick Dempsey is set to return to the franchise.
The actor who played cop Mark Kincaid in SCREAM 3 and whose character is believed to now be married to Neve Campbell’s Sidney – a Mark has been mentioned in the last two sequels- is if rumours are true, in talks to reprise his role.
The whispers are also saying that Courtney Cox is all but in to return as Gale Weathers, which considering she hasn’t missed one film in the series, this will be a huge shock if she didn’t.
Kevin Williamson, who wrote the screenplay for the original Scream, is set to direct this new sequel, with Campbell returning after the departures of both Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega,
