With the success of a new SCREAM and the HALLOWEEN films, it comes to no surprise that the hugely popular SCARY MOVIE franchise, a spoof on all things horror is getting a brand new film, planned for release in 2025.
Variety announced the news this afternoon by stating that Paramount Pictures will partner with the “Fast and Furious” mega-producer Neal H. Moritz to resurrect the dormant franchise.
As this is just an announcement, its too early to state if its popular stars, Anna Farris and Regina Hall will return to the franchise.
The original, released in 2000 was the ultimate laugh at Ghostface and was a huge box-office hit that spawned further sequels, all dwindling in quality on each release.
It be interesting to see what direction this will take as the project moves forward.
