No man – or devil, for that matter – is an island, and Lucifer has a varied and unusual network of friends and family. To prepare for the release of Lucifer: The Complete First Season, available from October 17, we explore those lucky devils related to and friends with the, erm, devil. From co-workers and fellow demons, to brothers and therapists, Lucifer is surrounded by people either trying to help or hinder his efforts to escape the depths of hell.
Lucifer Morningstar
Lucifer (Tom Ellis) is the Lord of hell and bored as hell. He decides to abdicate and become a consultant for LAPD whilst running a nightclub of his own. Amongst his special powers is the ability to get people to confess the truth about their desires, which gives him great pleasure in exposing publicly.
Detective Chloe Decker
Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) is Lucifer’s co-worker and unusually, someone entirely unreceptive to his powers. Being around her also makes Lucifer’s invulnerability and superpowers disappear. Chloe has been ostracised by fellow police officers after a cop was shot.
Detective Dan Espoza
Played by Kevin Alejandro, Detective Dan is the ex-husband of Chloe, who is not at all enamoured with Lucifer and his increasing closeness to his ex-wife and daughter Trixie. Dan works with Chloe and Lucifer in the LAPD.
Amendiel
Amendiel (D. B. Woodside) is Lucifer’s brother, a dark angel, hell-bent on dragging Lucifer back to hell because his presence on earth is unbalancing the universe. There’s no love -loss between the two brothers.
Mazikeen
Because no lord of hell should be without one, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) is Lucifer’s confidante and devoted ally, a demon who followed Lucifer to earth, who also masquerade’s by day as a bartender and bouncer at Lucifer’s nightclub.
Dr. Linda Martin
Both Lucifer’s therapist and friend with benefits, Dr Linda is played by Rachael Harris. Convinced that Lucifer’s tales of his life and genesis are merely a religious metaphor, Linda tries to get Lucifer to open up his feelings to her.
Detective Malcolm Graham
Chloe witnessed the shooting of Detective Malcolm (Kevin Rankin) whilst his was nefariously meeting with underworld characters. Left comatose, he was brought back to life by Amendiel to kill Lucifer.
Lucifer: The Complete First Season is released on DVD October 17, 2016
