There’s a lot of love out there for slasher series SCREAM and whether or not you liked the recent movies, there’s still plenty of excitement there when a new movie is released. So it was no surprise that Twitter was alive and trending last week with the news that production has wrapped on the latest instalment, Scream 5, along with confirmation from creator and producer, Kevin Williamson, of the film’s official title. Wait for it….

Okay, so it’s not really that creative but seems to be taken a leaf out of Blumhouse’s Halloween book by naming the sequel exactly the same as the original. Personally, I’m not a fan and think they’ve missed a trick by not naming it 5CREAM but nevertheless, it’s only a name and what matters is if the film will be any good!

The only Scream film to date not to be directed by the late Wes Craven, SCREAM is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett, aka Radio Silence, who are known for Ready Or Not and Devil’s Due, whilst James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick take up writing duties.
The film stars Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Sonia Ammar, Jasmin Savoy Brown with franchise regulars Courteney Cox, David Arquette and Neve Campbell returning to the franchise.
Ghostface will be returning to a screen near you in 2022.
